The Implosion series emerged from the encounter between working bells and metal plates. I placed plates made of steel, stainless steel, and copper inside a bell while it was in operation. As the bell was rung, its clapper gradually dented the plates, shaping their final forms.
The sound of a bell can be associated with many moments in life: celebration, mourning, loss, or remembrance. The same sound can carry very different meanings for different people.
Through these sounds, I wanted to preserve the possibility of stories without revealing them directly. The objects do not tell us whether they were created by bells accompanying a birth, a celebration, or the end of a life. What remains is the physical trace of the sound, while the story behind it remains unknown.
