Sunflower is the first painting in a series connected to the work 525. The sunflower is a characteristic plant of the Hungarian rural landscape and agricultural culture, and here it becomes a starting point for questions of collective identity.
The use of acrylic and ash evokes the contrast between the plant’s living and dead states. Through a simple, recognisable form, the painting connects ideas of landscape, materiality, and community.
