It is always a painful feeling when we lose someone. Many are missing from our family, but the two individuals immortalized in the installation hold a special place in our hearts. Although we never met them and could never reach out to them, they will forever remain a part of our family. Stillborn children are usually cremated with others, and often do not have the opportunity for their own burial, even though everyone needs that.
The creation of the installation took a week, and I used 60 meters of paper for it. During the on-site burning, a strong smell of smoke filled the room, greatly contributing to the atmosphere of the work. The persistent odor of smoke, although unpleasant, carries a deeper meaning in my work; it symbolizes the unrelenting feeling of pain and loss that comes with the loss of stillborn children.
In creating the installation, my aim was to establish an immersive atmosphere that radiates the mood of pain and remembrance. This allows the audience to interpret and feel the continuous presence of emotional waves caused by the experience of loss.
