The installation is a seesaw-like structure, in which visitors can engage with the work through an object placement process sensitive to balance and weight. A crafted wooden pole, inspired by the yoke used in agriculture, appears as a human outstretched arm, ending in a hand-shaped motif at each end. The pole is supported in the middle, so every object placed on it affects the entire system according to the rules of the seesaw. If the balance is disrupted, the ceramic objects placed on it fall – but the metal table filled with black sand placed underneath gently catches them. The installation thus simultaneously asks the viewer and invites them to active participation: how much can we bear? When does care or burden tip over? What is it that we can bear from the weight of others – and when do we start to lose ourselves? The symbolism of the hand – the gesture of holding, extending, and releasing
– becomes a central motif, while the seesaw also allows for a social,
psychological, and spiritual reading. The viewer
does not just place objects, but makes a decision, takes responsibility, and faces the consequences of disproportion.
Mounted slightly away from the wall with subtle spacers, the piece gains a hovering, dislodged quality, as though a fragment of land has been lifted from its origin and suspended in time. It preserves the imprint of memory, and the possibility of healing: the broken whole does not fully close, but its circular origin remains legible — an openness directed toward the future.
